San Diego Gulls officially unveil uniforms!

This afternoon, the AHL's San Diego Gulls officially unveiled their home and road uniforms. The team will take the ice for their inaugural season next month.

In a surprising twist, this AHL team's uniforms will not be a carbon copy of what its NHL affiliate wears! Instead, the new look is merely inspired by the Anaheim Ducks.

Personally, I love this color scheme. Orange was a given as a brand tie-in with Anaheim, but the light blue is the perfect contrasting color.

However I'm still not completely sold on the logo. It's got great brand recognition for San Diego hockey fans  and some cool elements, but the bird's head and "hand" need work.

On the other hand, the "SD" logo is spot on! It's another great tie-in with the Ducks identity. This is an NHL/AHL affiliation done right. The teams have their own distinct brands but are still obviously part of the same family.

What do you think of the Gulls' uniforms?
