Hurricanes debut 20th anniversary logo
Can you believe it's been two decades since we lost the Whalers? The Carolina Hurricanes debuted their 20th anniversary logo yesterday.
I bring up the Whalers because they're widely regarded as having had one of the best logos in NHL history. In 1997 they became the team with one of the worst. Now, to commemorate their first 20 years, that team has introduced a logo that's as dull as anything I've ever seen in the NHL.
Though I guess there's something to be said for the fact that they're using the same font that represented Icethetics for a few years. So maybe I can just shut up about it. On the other hand, it's also what the Calgary Flames use for their jersey numbers and nameplate.
UPDATE: As for where it will appear on the uniform, the Hurricanes say it's a helmet decal.
