/It's Sunday so our focus today is on the minor leagues, but I can't help feeling like the inevitable Seattle NHL team should adopt the Thunderbirds moniker. They'd look good in these jerseys by Jake Miller, wouldn't they?
Monarchs Reign
/Congratulations to the Manchester Monarchs on their first — and last — Calder Cup championship! The club becomes the Ontario Reign in the AHL's Pacific Division next season so when they attempt to repeat, it'll be under a new name.
With that in mind, I wanted to showcase a pretty sharp Reign concept by Jake Miller. The team has a new logo and uniforms that mimic their NHL parent club in Los Angeles, but wouldn't this look great on the ice in the fall?

San Diego Trio
/As we await the unveiling of the San Diego Gulls' uniforms, several artists have already taken a stab at designing them. I wonder who will be closest. First up is Jake Miller, who's taking a straightforward approach to the design.
Scott Markiewicz imagines they'll go with something similar to that of their owner and NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks.
And finally, Kevin Kurz has my personal favorite — based on the old Mighty Ducks jerseys from the '90s. Which of these three is your favorite?
