A New Season Begins

Guess what. Hockey's back! As a new season begins — the first with 31 NHL teams — Alan John Herbert helps us celebrate by offering up his full redesign of the entire NHL. New jerseys for every team. Which ones do you like best?

A Better Toronto

The Maple Leafs debuted new uniforms last year but Jamie Robertson thinks they could've been a bit more true to the past.

Naval Stadium Hockey

For the third Saturday in a row, Justin Nahhas offers us an interesting outdoor game concept. This time he's tackling the 2018 Stadium Series game in Annapolis as the Washington Capitals host the Toronto Maple Leafs.

New Uniforms All Around

It's a record-breaking day. The NHL and Adidas will reveal new uniforms for all 31 teams today. That demanded something special on the Concepts page. Something that acknowledges every team. So here we go.

Lucas Daitchman has been one of our most prolific contributors for a while now — with more than 200 unposted submissions sitting in my inbox at this moment. I'd like to shrink that number a bit by giving him the floor today — one concept for each team plus a special bonus at the end. Enjoy!

Retro Toronto

Jamie Robertson was inspired to create a third jersey for the Maple Leafs inspired by a number of elements from the club's history. He writes:

10 total arm stripes for each decade of team's existence
13 total stripes for each Stanley Cup
3 waist stripes nod to St. pat's uniforms worn from 1925 to 1927
"T" in crest nod to Toronto Blueshirts, first Toronto-based team to win the Stanley Cup
3 stripes on socks, dark version of pair worn from 1934 to 1938
